Appearance: Blue-grey, light brown hair with a few red and blond highlights, 5’9”/142, lean and fit. Barill has a small birthmark on her right hand, near her wrist. It’s a dark brown oddly shaped coloring, that with some imagination from Barill she calls it her ‘bird’. In some way, Barill could be called a beauty. She has light brown hair with natural red and blond highlights. But not enough to truly be labeled a red head or blond. She is medium boned, and a physically fit and lean body, lending her a willowy figure. She carries herself as if she were the Senior Weyrwoman. She prefers to wear mostly skirts and blouses, she’s settled herself into wearing trousers and tunics.
Though, she didn’t get rid of her dresses and skirts and blouses, she still has them and wears them for special occasions. Either because she’s the Master Harper’s daughter or for some other reason entirely different, Barill takes great pains to make herself outshine any other person. She strives to even look better than her own mother! Barill has a perfectly healthy dose of a woman’s appetite for being well dressed. She loves her dresses, and she doesn’t like to give anything of hers away, but recently she’d given a few of her dresses, blouses, and skirts away to a few younger girls. Those that didn’t really fit her anymore. She has some shoes and slippers that match some of her clothing, though she’d also had to give away a few pairs of those too.
Basic Personality: Confident, stubborn, tomboyish, and defiant. Barill is confidant in her abilities as a person and will not listen to anyone that bullies her. She is her own person and she knows it. She is polite and considerate, not one that resorts to bullying another person into doing something. She’ll ask. If the person says ‘no’, then she’ll leave it at that. She is isn’t afraid to get dirty and isn’t afraid to wrestle around either. She simply loves the challenge of getting physical to try and best her opponent, male or female. She is stubborn when it comes to something she has set her mind to. And nothing will change her mind. She loves children and babies of any species. She had been told by one or two older women that she would make a wonderful mother should she have any children of her own and takes those words to heart. She tries her best to do what she thinks is right for her twin daughters. She loves to dance and will often dance without music, though she usually will rectify the situation by humming a tune. She loves her tambourine, which she had made herself and takes pride in it’s uniqueness. Barill is loyal to her craft and that of her Masters, but she has strong moral values. And is of the mind that women should have equal right to move up in their own crafts if they have proven to be able to earn that higher status.
She will often speak her mind if she feels it may help in some small way. And on some small occasions it had gotten her into some small trouble. Though she is happy to learn that in some areas and just recently that women have been given some small measures of more liberal ‘room to breath’, as she refers to these new improvements. Barill grew up with brothers who rough-housed and wrestled, and like to pretend to be Dragonriders as young boys. Barill would join them once she was old enough and she hasn’t seemed to grasp the concept of being a ‘Lady’. Something that her mother had tried to teach her about at the earliest opportunity, but Barill wouldn’t listen. She loved wrestling with her brothers and getting dirty. Getting dirty in her mind was a badge of honor. To her and her brothers, anyway, it meant that you weren’t afraid to get into the thick of any situation and do your hardest. Barill is defiant to the very last. She did her chores, but she usually put them off to the very last moment, or convinced one or all of her brothers to do her chores for her with promises. She loves her mother dearly but she rebels against her when she tried to get Barill to be a lady. ‘A lady never wrestles’, ‘a lady never…’ Blah, blah, blah… Is all that Barill thinks. She would rather be out and seeing things and having fun doing it. When her mother tried to lecture her, Barill would tune her out and thing of some payback she usually owed her brothers for some mischief or trouble they usually got her into. She doesn’t follow directions or rules, unless it’ll benefit her in some small way.

History: Barill was born and raised as the youngest of five siblings at the Harper Hall. Her father, Senior Journeyman Harper of flute, Baren, and her mother, Kerill, Senior Journeyman Harper of song composition. Her brother Lirren, a Junior Journeyman Harper of Drums, currently on assignment, and her young sister, Kerilla, currently Senior Apprentice. Barill had a calm childhood like most other children born at the Hall. She was inquisitive as a little girl could be. Always wanting to know about everything. She took it into her head to climb a tree. She was close to the branches near the ground when her right foot slipped and she fell the rest of the way to the ground. Her brother, Lirren, had been nearby and had seen her fall. He picked her up and ran to the Infirmary. Luckily, all Barill had gotten was a two inch long gash on the right side of her right knee. It was only a centimeter deep. She had only been five turns old. From that point on, she stopped climbing trees.
Barill had a loving relationship with her other siblings. And there were times when she would fight with her siblings. She helped around with running errands for her mother and father. She was formally apprenticed to the Harper Hall at the age of 12, wanting very much to follow in both of her parent‘s chosen craft, as Harpers. Barill was not sure where she fit in as she grew older. She loved singing but she wasn’t very good. So she tried dancing and playing the tambourine. She was very good at dancing and moderately good with the tambourine. She had finally found her niche in the Harper Hall. At the age of seventeen turns, she gave birth to twin girls. The birthing was incredibly painful and hard. She was in labor for a good eight or so hours. Ivella was born first, and a bit on the small side compared to her twin. Larra was born a half minute later. Both twins were born healthy. She named them Ivella and Larra.
She never knew the man’s name. So she named them after herself. The father didn’t stay after he had slept with her when a gold had risen very close to the Harper Hall. She spent a few months taking care of her newborn daughters, putting her Harper training on hold until she got settled. At two months old, Ivella became sick. Barill immediately summoned a resident healer. It was deemed that little Ivella was fighting nothing too serious. Ivella came out of it the next day, much to her mother‘s happiness. Once she was settled, she took up her studies again, while letting the resident Creche nannies handle her little girls. Barill didn’t make Journeyman status until after she had turned 18. To celebrate, her parents gave her a firelizard egg they had saved up all of their marks for. It hatched a few days later a green, but it go spooked and winked between. She was very sad about it, but contented herself to look after her daughters.
When she’d made Journeyman, Barill was stationed at Bitra Hold, and then Keroon Hold for a few months. Last sevenday, she was assigned to Western Weyr. And upon her arrival she found herself Searched for Orlaith’s clutch. Immediately, Barill handed over Ivella and Larra to the Weyr’s Creche nannies to care for her daughters and took up her lessons should she impress.

Strengths
- Eager - She is ready and willing to get her hands durty in helping with any task that is set for her to do. She doesn't mind what the task is, she'll do it, and do it to the best of her ability.
- Cooperative - She likes working with others and is helpful in giving directions or helpful tips and ideas. If there is someone in a group she is working with that she can't get along with, she'll stick it out anyway.
- Empathetic - She loves animals and adores children. She often will help out in the Creche or help in cleaning the runnerbeast stalls. She will sometimes help with a sick child or animal if asked.
- Fearless - Try to harm her daughters, and she will not have a problem getting in your way. Some might say she's foolhardy. She's a mother, and a mother should be willing to protect her children. And she is just another mother that is will to lose her own life in order to protect hers daughters.
- Intelligent - In some situations, she may be viewed as a lackwit or dimglow, but she is intelligent. In that she knows right from wrong, life and death. She has a surprising wit about her when she's dealing with people, and she uses her mind more than physical strength.
Faults
- Absent-Minded - If it weren't for her age, some might think she's an Old Auntie in a younger girl's skin! Sometimes her absent-mindedness happens more than once during a day, like when she'd forgotten to check on her daughters after they'd been born and Larra was about to put an object into her mouth. Something that could have choked her.
- Argumentative - She can have a long-winded arguement with anyone. Especially if its about her favorite subjects: Harpering, her twin daughters, or dragons. She does try to mind herself when she's around anyone of rank.
- Implusive - Some of the time, she has no reason for doing some things. Once she went for a run, in a torrential rain! She received a sprained ankle for it. She doesn't go on her impulses all the time, but sometimes they are too strong to ignore.
- Obsessive [OCD complex] - If she was on Earth, she'd be a classic case of OCD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. She can't eat her food without turning her plate four times. She can't get out of bed in the morn without rubbing both hands on the wall beside her cot.
- Quirky - Especially in regards to her belongings. Everything around her sleeping area has a place and she prefers to have everything just so. And she will absolutely know if anything's been moved. If anything was moved, she'll freak. In her mind, she has things as they are for her to easily get to them.
