Equivalent of 'scaredy-cat' from Earth, someone who is unreasonably fearful or just insulting someone for being afraid of something simply to be mean
Acting like a wher afraid of its own shadow
Similar to scaredy-flit, can also refer to someone acting paranoid or suspicious
Overgrown flying watchwher
An insult aimed at a rider’s dragon, comparing them to a wher
Looking like something the wher dragged in
Calling someone ugly or (in a more friendly manner) hinting that they need to catch up on some personal hygiene, look like they just got out of bed
Sun-crazed wher
Crazy
Ugly as a watchwher
A way to call say someone is exceptionally ugly, or refer to them being highly foul-tempered

Food and Drink Meat
Bovine: used for milk and meat - cattle
Ovine: used for milk, meat, wool - sheep
Caprine: used for milk, meat, wool - goat
Porcine: used for meat, rarely mentioned on Pern - pig
Avian/Fowl: descendants of quail, chicken, geese, and ducks originally brought from Earth
These can be roasted, stewed, grilled, baked, fried, or salted. Other meat items include:
Meat pockets: a crusty flaky bread crust filled with gravy, vegetables, meat and spices
Meat rolls: flat breads made into rolls with slices of meat
Meat pies: same as the pocket, just in traditional pie shape
Spiced rolls: tiny appetizers made of ground meat and bread
Avian quarters: grilled thighs, wings, legs, and breasts
Stuffed fowl: a whole bird stuffed with herbs, vegetables, breading and sometimes their own eggs
Fowl eggs: cooked in a variety of ways
Fish
Red fins: oily bodies, large - tuna variation (?)
Yellowtail: large, angled yellow tails - tuna variation (?)
Red shellfish: long bodied, many legs - lobster
Shoreline shellfish: small, round - crab
Spiderclaw: small with many legs - crawdad

Most fruits come from the South and are not readily available in all areas. Some are exotic and expensive unless dragon-got. We can assume fruits can be served on Pern similarly to Earth:Fresh, jams/jellies, in pies/tarts/crisps, baked, whipped, etc.
Nuts/Breads
Bulge nut: walnut or pecan variation??
Large tree nut: chisel holes for milk, thick and hard shell, white meat, used as water container - coconut
Ground nut: peanut??
Flour: made from grains and nuts
Unlevened bread
Flat bread
Sweet bread/sweet biscuits/sweet rolls
Spice cake
Toasted bread
Bubbly pies: desert item, usually filled with fruit
Pockets/pies/rolls
