Appearance: Built like a laborer, V'ktor is tall and well muscled rider with a shadowy look about him. Deeply tanned skin bear the marks of his past, from thin, tan knife scars on his forearms to the harsh, wider white marks from a accident with exploding tank on the Hold's Firefighting Team. Not a stranger to hard work before the events of his Joining, he still likes to help out when he can - and when people will allow him too.

His face is sharp angled features with stubbled shadow and framing with somber, light golden brown eyes seem a bit of a shock to most, their disarming aura is a not what most expect from the man. His wild, tosscut Brown-blonde hair that just brushes his shoulders and he doesn't make a effort to control it. It fans out on its own and, tho he has cut and brushed it, it keeps it slightly untamed look and doesn't help lighten V'ktor's reputation.

Dark colors are his choice of wardrobe, a labor most of his life. If you get him to relax, which is rare, you can get him out of the heavy jacket - but he does his best to cover the scars, as much for his own benfiet as for that of others.

Basic Personality:
Strengths

• Loyal - Once you manage to become his friend, you are a friend for life. Short of hurting him or someone he cares about on purpose, he doesn't turn on those he calls friends.
  
• Protective - In Fact, if you are his friend, he will guard you body and soul. He won't let anyone hurt his friends, and if you try, be prepared to find out just how strong and protective this man is.
  
• Crafty - Viktor has spent his whole life as a Crafter in the Hold; he has skills that can only be learned from years of working in the trades. Leatherwork is his specialty, but he does (secretly) make some more delicate metal and leather working when he has the time.
  
• Brave - There is very little that scares this man; he's pretty much spent his life working, so he doesn't have anything to fear about losing other then simply his life. If he can help others, then so be it. He was on the Flamethrower Team for his Hold before being Searched.
  
• Laidback - He is a man who isn't out to fight life; he does what he has been told was his lot in life. Not even being Searched seems to have shook him up; he fully expects to walk back off the Sands and return to the Hold.
  

Faults

• Strong, silent Type - If he doesn't have something to say, he pretty much doesn't try. Tall, muscular build with dark hair and deeply tanned skin from years of work, he can come across as slightly menacing. He doesn't look very friendly at first glance and gets a bad reaction - he is careful who he opens up to, and if a perfect example of why you shouldn't judge on first looks.
  
• Older - nearly 20 turns, he is a good deal older then most of the other Candidates. He's never had this many younger people around him and isn't exactly sure he can connect with them. He doesn't see how he can have much in common with them.
  
• Under Educated - He can read, write, and kinda count; thats about it. He hasn't had any higher education; he can seem smart naturally, but he started into leathercraft early in life and his other courses suffered. Don't as him to do much mathematical besides adding and subtracting; you'll get a blank look.
  
• Displaced - Viktor doesn't know anything about Weyr life; he's never been out of the Hold till now for any length of time. This is all new for him, and a little uncomfortable.
  
• Loyal - Yes, its listed in both. That's cause, short of hurting someone he cares for, he doesn't see wrong in his friends. He will take falls and hits for his friends, even if they don't appreciate it.
  
• Emotionally Guarded - Though Viktor is not a fast one to anger, he will remember it if you slight him. He holds his grudges for a long time, probably longer then the person he was mad with would remember. He tries to keep others at a distance both because he doesn't want to get hurt, but he also doesn't really have alot of experience dealing with others on a emotional level. And, like almost all men, women both confuse and scare him. If you do talk to him first tho, he is nice enough to reply... but he will rarely be the first to reach out a hand of friendship or anything else.
  

History: Viktor sent his childhood and most of his young adulthood as a Leathercraft journeyman in the halls of Western Hold. With both his parents well known in their trades, he was never at a shortage to find something to keep his hands busy or things to dabble in. When he wasn't working on his skills in Leatherwork, Viktor worked most of the time hauling stock and supplies from one to the other or manual labor to help fixing the many buildings in the Hold's protection. Viktor loved working with his hands, and was happy with his lot in life as a Leathercrafter.

During his first fifteenth turn, the young man volunteered and was part of the Flamethrowers on the ground, but didn't come out unscathed. What was supposed to be a simple training event turned deadly when one of the Flamethrower tanks, old and disused, exploded. One boy was killed and several others were burned severely. Viktor spent several months in the care of a Healer to recover from the accident, and was scarred with a web of bright white slashmarks across his back and shoulders from the flames and tank shards had hit him.

When he was was nearly 19, Viktor was searched and taken to Western Weyr. Thinking it strange to have been picked at such a late age, it wasn't until they saw the size of the clutch did they understand; so many eggs. Viktor didn't pay too much interest in the lessons the Candidates were learning, feeling it more likely that he would be returning to the Hold long before the eggs began to shake. He felt like a child held back a grade; treated like a teenager when his whole life he had been conditioned to be a mini adult by his father. Older the most that stood on the stand, V'ktor was already ready to return to Hold when all this is over.
