Appearance: Slender framed and fair skinned, Lefden looks more like his sister then his parents. With chocolate blond hair and deep, rich hazel eyes, he is too cute for his own good sometimes. He isn't overly muscled, but wiry and strong in spite of his slim appearance. He doesn't have any huge scars, only a few little hairline ones from Torc on his shoulder. His fingers have only callouses on the tips, but he seems to hide the lack of hard labor well.



Basic Personality: Seen a as bit of a slacker by his parents, Lefden doesn’t really know what he wants from life. He never did. He is a happy, open person that loves being out in the great wide world. Outgoing and normally outspoken, he plans to spend his life traveling the roads of Pern to learn all the old tales and ballads forgotten to the flow of time. He isn't without Bravery and caring natures tho, but sometimes it gets him in over his head.

Strengths

• Friendly; No matter where he is, Lefden always seems to be able to make friends. Whether it’s his outgoing nature or his slim skills as a Harper, he always seems to blend with those around him.
  
• Lucky; Whether in games of chance, timing in being places, or avoiding being hurt, Lefden seems to have a uncanny ability to been on the lucky side of things. No one is quite sure why.
  
• Learned; like his sister, he’s been put through the learning system of High Reaches and kept in it with their mother’s stern force of will. He loves to learn tho – about anything. If he can get his hands on a book about it, he knows about it. A very knowledge thirsty young man.
  
• Memory; A good trait for one that wishes to be a full-fledged Harper, Lefden remembers almost anything he is exposed too.
  
• Athletic; Despite never settling into a manual labor job at the Hold, Lefden is one of six children; tho not bulky or ‘ripped’ he is toned and general good condition. Quick and agile, but not the strongest person.

Faults

• Daydreamy ; he is an aspiring Harper afterall. He would rather be practicing on his skills then focusing on something that might count as real work.
  
• Dodgy; He doesn’t like being given anything that might be counted and ‘real work’ and is normally really good at being someplace other than where people are looking for him. He is adept had hiding from people trying to put him to work.
  
• Flirty; Lefden fancies the girls a little too much. Though he is never after anything from them, he does love playing the ‘flirting’ game with ladies. Combine with his looks, one day, this WILL get him in trouble if he isn’t careful.
  
• Unprepared; Lefden seems to have decided that life will just happen to him – he has no actual plans for his future. Eventually, the boy WILL have to grow up.
  
• Over –protective; Of anyone he counts a friend or his family. He isn’t above getting into a fight if someone slights the honor of someone important to him, though he doesn’t win often and as gotten hurt on more than one instant.
  

History: Born and raised at High Reaches Hold, Lefden is the second son in the family, only his brother Cath and his sister Deisea being his senior among the siblings. He never did settle really well into any role within the Hold; he just didn’t seem to have the drive to follow in his father’s footsteps like his brother did, nor did he seem much interested in the other spots that needed filling in the Hold’s structure. At his wits end, his father wondered what to do with the boy.

Luckily, the answer came in the form of a Visiting Harper. The stories peaked an interest in Lefder that none of his family had seen before, and his father was simply relieved the boy showed interest in anything besides getting into trouble. Tales of Dragonriders and Thread, of the Founding and the past history of Pern was like a drug to Lefden – he threw himself into learning everything about being a Harper and what he had to do to be able to know more about what had passed before them in Pern.

Though he isn’t the best Harper since he started, his voice is fine and his ability to remember most of the tales he had been told makes him at least passable at it. Only with his sister’s Searching did he really set about learning about Impressing and Weyrlife as a whole. He has been to the Weyr for every Hatching his sister had been on the Sands for, wanting to support her as best he can – he doesn’t plan to stop now.

On Lefden’s visit to Western Weyr for Cleissa’s second Standing, he was lucky enough to win a game of chance against a few of the young male Weyr folk. In reward, he got a small, brownish copper Firelizard egg. With Firelizards a standard in Harper Lore, he was happy to have the little creature – he had looked forward to a little Brown, but was shocked when the Bronze cracked threw the shell instead. Torc had been with Lefden ever since.

He’s never considered being a Dragonrider; he is happy with his little Bronze lizard, and hopes someday he’ll be writing a nice Harper tale about his sister’s Dragon exploits.
