Name: Rauget, nickname "Rau" [If Impresses, R'au]
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Homosexual
Rank: Candidate/over-grown weyrbrat. Known as the weyr's 'stable boy' takes care of runners and sometimes herdbeasts and helps out the beast crafters when they need it. Sort of a jack-of-all trades, never was interested in a craft and usually helps out anyone at the weyr who needs it for a small price. Often seen lifting things and carrying them around.
Family:
Rae, Greenrider of Western
She is a slight little woman with a fiery temper, a loud contagious laugh, and is in love with falling in love. She's fond of her children but expects them to be able to raise themselves. To put it this way; Rae is the type of mother who sees her toddler totter into a dangerous area and waits for the inevitable outcome... it'd teach the toddler not to do it again, after all. While this may seem harsh, she is not a stupid or unkind woman, and she does love each child. Rae would put herself in harms way to protect her children if she ever felt the situation was too dangerous. Though none of her children share the same father [she thinks...] they all get along very well. A loving and close family!
Sister, Mae (26 turns, journeywoman healer)
Mae is a quiet woman with a serious attitude. She is hardworking and practical, in contrast to her free-spirited mother. She is tall with long black hair and green eyes... she takes after her father [not that her mother remembers who that is]. When Rauget grew up, Mae mothered him even thought she was not that much older. A mature, confident person.
Sister, Rayette (15, weyrbrat, interested in harper craft)
Rayette is flighty and flirtatious, a bubbly child who might just be an airhead, though don't tell doting brother Rauget that. She's quite precious and friendly though woe to you if you cross her. She can get scary angry and isn't afraid to cross a few... moral lines... to punish you.
One brother, Matyu (nine turns, werybrat).
A bright-eyed boy who near worships his brother Rauget and likes to follow him around sometimes. Wants to be a bronzerider. Smart, ambitious, very innocent.

Appearance:
At a don't-mess-with-me 6'4" hieght, weighing at about 200 lbs (mostly that is from muscle). He's blessed with broad shoulders and a boyish face. Though not remarkably handsome or stand-out, he is pleasing to look at and has short brown hair, warm brown eyes, and a near-constant big, eager grin. His skin is tanned and calloused, thanks to the sun he grew up in and the fact that no one can keep him cooped up for long. If one looks closely they can see a sprinkling of freckles--that's a gift from his mother, but he dislikes them because of how young they make him look. He can be a bit of a slob when it comes to his clothing; usually the fabric is wrinkled because he just clumped it up somewhere before he put it on. Seems to always walk with a certain saunter.
Basic Personality: A cocksure, arrogant sort of fellow with a big eager grin. Rau is playful, a bit of a prankster, certainly outgoing and fond of making friends. He does have a spine and a temper, though he's a little too sure of himself. Hides a more anxious side, and surprisingly flees from emotional situations that make him feel uncomfortable. A little too forgiving and a sorry judge of character, Rau'll make friends with just about everyone... including old enemies; loyal to a fault and 'adopts' friends into his warm family. Brawn-not-brains sort of fellow.
Strengths (at least 5, preferably more, do not simply list them, but add a little description/example to go along with it)
Faults (at least 5, preferably more, do not simply list them, but add a little description/example to go along with it)
History: Rae did not know she was pregnant until her green Ladith informed her, casually, as if she was stating the weather. This threw Rae into glee, she cooed at her belly constantly and started bragging about her little baby at the Weyr. Ladith was envious of the attention and ignored her during this time. A couple of riders told Rae it would be better just to go between on Ladith, and lose the child as most greenriders did. Rae waved off complaints and had him anyway. So, the boy was born into a rather hostile environment. This seemed to have little effect on his nature.
Rae decided to raise Rauget herself, like she had done with his older half-sister. This involved her own loose but good-intentioned brand of mothering. Rau always had warm and loving arms at home, and a mother who would try her best to divide time between her duties, her lovers, and her children... but in a lot of ways he was a wild child, free to do what he wanted with little to no punishment unless the drudges or cooks took it upon themselves to smack him silly for his many pranks.
10 turns ago, when Rau was 11 turns old, his greenrider mother followed the young Talaria and her Gold Orlaith to the Western Continent when this weyr was founded. Of course he was brought along as well.
Always one who knew he had to get things done himself if he wanted them done at all, and with very little self-confidence issues... well, Rau decided to throw himself into working on tons of things around the weyr. He didn't want to stick to one certain thing, because he was never interested in crafts or drudge work [ick] and he always believed with a certain arrogant certainty that he'd be a great, awesome, epic dragonrider.
So he Stood.
And Stood again. And again.
He never has Impressed and he's getting older, confidence waning though he does his best not to let it get to him. There is a bit of panic in the back of his mind, a voice that screams "oh by the first egg, we have no real skills, how are we going to do this?" but he shuts it out and keeps his brave face on.
If ever you become inactive without warning for a long period of time or decide to leave the site, what would you like me to do with your character?
Whatever you wanna do. If I leave, you can make him a NPC, an adoptable, kill him off--whatever is best for the weyr and the plot you've got my permission.

Strengths (at least 5, preferably more, do not simply list them, but add a little description/example to go along with it)
- A people-person. Charming, friendly, nice, kind, sweet--this guy sees the best in just about everybody and though he has a temper it doesn't last very long. Rau wants to like you. He wants to like and be friends with everyone.
- Loyal to the bone. Putting family and friends first before just about everything in life, Rau knows blood is thicker than water but if you're a friend you've been adopted into his little 'family' and by the first egg, he'll protect you with everything he's got.
- Hard worker. How can one be both a hard worker and lazy? Well, this is how--Rau attempts to do only the littlest he can to get by, or to avoid situations he dislikes. But if he has a passion for something he will do his very, very best on that one thing... he just hasn't found what that thing is yet. [note; if he's insulted or pushed, he'll also give you a great result out of wounded pride]
- Brave because he honestly seems fearless at some points... but that isn't because he isn't afraid. Rau bites back upon all manner of fears in order to push through with what is 'right' or 'good'.
- Leader at least in a social manner. He enjoys taking care of people and making sure everybody is doing well, and that they're all having fun. Perhaps a better way to put it would be 'Natural Host'.
- Playful--easy-going sort of prankster that he is, a sort of flighty and cheerful guy. Though he does have a temper under that mass of smiles and laughter... it's really hard to associate him as anything other than "good humored".
Faults (at least 5, preferably more, do not simply list them, but add a little description/example to go along with it)
- Pugnacious. Though usually even-tempered, if you do get him angry his initial response is "I'm big and strong and I'm going to knock your lights out!" Which... isn't so very good, because it makes situations worse rather than better and Rau isn't a trained fighter. He's scrappy and tall and powerful, but he doesn't know what to do if there is a knife in the situation and he can be a little careless. Besides for that, his temper soon vanishes while others hold a grudge... so he'll forget about a fight when the other guy or girl is planning how to get back at him.
- Arrogance! Rau thinks he's Faranth's gift to Mankind. Beyond just thinking he can charm the pants off of just about anyone, he also thinks he's super-awesome in all areas of life. Which is irritating and obviously untrue. Not one to admit his flaws.
- Lazy. Goes along with the arrogance thing. He's perfect, so he doesn't need to do anything more than necessary to achieve results. Rests on his laurels. Rau needs to get a good kick in the butt to motivate to excellence, otherwise he exists on the mediocre... like, his jack-of-all-trades existence. He's not super good in one thing but rather "decent enough" in many areas.
- While it would be silly to call him stupid, brains aren't his focus. He developed strength and what we'd call 'street smarts' but he never, ever focused on harper lessons and he's barely able to read. The sort to skip lessons and/or prank, Rau is lacking some basic education.
- A poor judge of character. The negative side of being super-duper-friendly, this man tends to see the good side in many people even switching opinions on those he hates at the drop of a hat. Can be manipulated or fall into bad situations because a person he attempts to befriend or be loyal to or even love turns out to be of the nasty sort.
- Escapist. If he's a social situation that makes him uncomfortable? He'll run. He won't face down his emotions or the people who make him feel foolish or strange.
