Name: Ginta
Age: 7 Turns
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Rank: Weyrbrat
Family: Father - G'ter - deceased, bonded to Brown Kovath. Mother - Tara - deceased, kitchen drudge.
Dragon or Wher:
Pets: Canine - Toro: Toro is only a Turn old. Ginta found him abandoned at a fair in Ista Hold and persuaded his father to let him keep it. He has a soft, glossy black coat that water runs off of. His eyes are a warm almond. His back right leg is broken beyond repair and hurts to put weight on. To compensate for this, Toro runs on three legs and only puts his fourth leg down when he needs extra balance.
He is eternally grateful to Ginta for rescuing him and is incredibly loyal to him. He's good natured enough to calm the smallest littles, but fierce enough to chase off anyone who would wish harm on his master. He likes to play jokes of the less grumpy dragons, who will play along and laugh to their riders about it. He knows, however, to avoid the other dragons, even to the point of turning tail and fleeing at their presence. He's a good judge of character and will growl at anyone he perceives to be a threat.
Appearance: One reason why he hasn't been able to really fit into Western Weyr is because he looks different from the normal "Pernese" look. He has deep copper skin that gleams in the sun. His hands are thick and calloused from hard work. He has long limbs, perfect for running. His shoulders are thick and wide. His face is sharply angled; his nose has a beaklike quality that his sculpted cheekbones and chin compliment. His slanted eyes are a warm amber-brown. His eyebrows jut out above them like rock ledges. His long, flowing hair is jet black and flows down to the middle of his back. He usually keeps it tied together in a long braid and weaves wherry feathers and long grasses into it. Whenever he can find them or gather enough marks to buy them, he also threads colorful beads into it. His voice is currently a high tenor, but will deepen to a baritone as he grows older.
Ginta usually wears open vests and leather pants during the summer. In the winter, he usually stays cooped up in his room, but when he must go outside, he grudgingly wears common wherhide clothes. No matter what time of year, he stubbornly refuses to wear any footwear besides the wherhide boots that his father made him before he died.
Basic Personality:
Strengths (at least 5, preferably more, do not simply list them, but add a little description/example to go along with it)
Faults (at least 5, preferably more, do not simply list them, but add a little description/example to go along with it)
History: Ginta was born in Igen Weyr to a kitchen drudge, conceived after a failed mating flight. Unlike many such children, his father felt responsible for him and helped raise him. G'ter took him to the fair where he found his loyal companion Toro. Soon before his seventh Turn, his father applied to be transferred to the still-fairly-new Western Weyr. He was accepted, and took Ginta with him. They lived happily there until G'ter died in a freak training accident. During a Between maneuver, a new Rider reappeared too close to G'ter and Kovath, accidentally slicing a deep, unrepairable gash in his shoulder. Not long after, G'ter bled to death, and Kovath disappeared Between. Ginta retreated within himself and began hiding from everyone. As time passed, he was gradually forgotten and was able to fade from the Weyr's sight. Those who do catch a glimpse of him never connect the reclusive boy to the happy, excited one that arrived less than a year earlier.
If ever you become inactive without warning for a long period of time or decide to leave the site, what would you like me to do with your character? Whatever fits in with the plot.
Ranking characters with high color dragons/whers can either be put up for adoption or killed off. They will not be able to remain as background NPCs for any longer than it will take for me to think of a way to kill them off, but other characters can remain around as NPCs if you’d like. If you ever decide to come back and wish to reclaim your characters, you can always reclaim them if they’ve simply been turned into NPCs, and if they haven’t been adopted yet, but if you allow them to be killed off they cannot be returned to you, they are gone forever.
