Rachel isn't too slender or frail by far; she's build like a fighter or a rider through and through. There is a wild beauty about her, with her long brown hair and sparkling eyes. She dresses the part of a rider, never wearing anything that might be elegant and fancy - soft leathers and pale white shirts is the best you will get.

Basic Personality:
Self assured and strong willed, Rachel isn't afraid of much. She doesn't hide that she had a rough time as a kid, but she doesn't hide behind it either. In her heart, she loves being a rider and wouldn't change a thing in her life.
Strengths

• determined; Rachel seems out to prove that she and Aslith are just as good as any higher color ranked pairing. She despises being discounted for being a Bluerider and loves nothing more then to prove that she is just as good as any other.
  
• intelligent; Not just smart, but savvy. She is quick think up new solutions and ways around obstacles when they are presented to her; it makes her a excellent rider under pressure.
  
• loyal; Even though she dislikes most higher color ranked dragons and their rider, she wouldn't speak against one unless she had real cause to do so. She isn't normally one to listen to gossip; and it takes hard evidence to make her consider going against the word of a Weyrleader or Wingleader.
  
• brave; The is very little she is frightened of; with the discount of having to manage little kids. Heights, Thread, Storms, Dark, Whers... only thing that really bothers her is the thought of something happening to Aslith.
  
• athletic; She might not be a slim build lovely, but Rachel isn't out of shape one bit. When not working with her dragon, Rachel often helps with manual labor around the Weyr and can sometimes still be found rock climbing the sheer cliffs of the Weyr's walls.
  

Faults

• stubborn; Once she sets her mind to do something, she does it. If someone tells her to do something else, she can always seem to find a way to been them too her own plans.
  
• sarcastic; Rachel doesn't always think before her mouth opens. She has a quick wit and doesn't always have the reflex it before she respond to others around her.
  
• kids; Though a good search rider, Rachel isn't good with anything under 13. Not sure why - she just doesn't like them.
  
• hot tempered; Normally a calm woman, if something sets Rachel off, nothing can stop her. No matter the rank or creed, if she has a bone to pick with you, you'll know.
  
• self critical; No one can cut her down as good as she can herself. If she thinks she has made a mistake - no one can convince her otherwise.
  

History:
Born in Weyr and handed off quickly to the Crechewoman, Rachel really didn't get to know her parents all that much. Not that it bothered her all that much - the young girl got into a mess of trouble as a young child, from fighting to running wild. Her antics as a child weren't without consequences; she broke her left arm in a fall while climbing the sheer walls of the Weyrbowl at the age of 9 turns, then a concussion when a disused tunnel collapsed on her and several other kids while exploring.

Even though she was born in the Weyr and impressed at age 17, she only stood for two hatchings. She was injured in her first standing at fourteen, clawed by a Bronze hatching. The damage was extensive and she nearly lost the leg. It took her 3 years to recover, and she didn't disappoint. Despite there still being boys on the Sands, Rachel was singled out by a rather large, robust Blue hatching. Aslith made if very clear that he was hers, she was his, and nothing Rachel could say would dissuade him.

Now, years later, they are a well known pair in the Weyr. Rachel is known not just for her skills as a Search Rider but also for her no nonsense temper and sharp tongued comebacks. She has earned the right to call herself one of the best riders, as well Aslith being known for being in the center of almost ANY flight that happens.
