(open to any and all! We need to get SOME life in this place!!)
She felt the smile tug at her lips, turning up the ends just a bit as she nodded to herself. She slowed her eating, more for the nerves of the Blue then herself, and took another drink of her Klah. 'Alright, you old man - I'll slow down. How are you feeling?'[/blockquote][/blockquote]
The Blue's humor was clear with the chuckle that bubbled back to her. 'How can I sleep with worry for you choking to death? You are eating like a starving thing.'Rachel gave the woman a nod of thanks as she took the bowl of stew from her. The Blue rider was in a foul mood and a good amount of the Weyr had the misfortune to know it. She was shards near spitting fire over her dragon's injuries and refused to listen to want or reason to it being explained away as 'a simple accident'.
She moved threw the dining area, ignoring the mutters and looks she knew were coming her way. She all but dropped the tray on a corner table, claiming a seat as far from other riders as possible. This was, in fact, the first time she had eaten outside her Weyr since the events of the Grey's Rise; probably as much for the safety of the other riders as much as her spending her time with the wounded Blue.
Pulling her gloves off, Rachel dropped them by her tray and reached for the hunk of bread. Ripping it into chucks, she dipped it into the rich broth of the stew and shoved the bite into her mouth. Chewing the bit, she collected the mug of Klah and washed it down with a few gulps before repeating the process with the next bit of bread.
'You should chew.' The voice flooded her mind, bringing her to a momentary pause in her meal. Lashes closed, the Dragon's faded pain hitting her like a hammer. 'I'm fine, Aslith. You are supposed to be resting.'
