Amelia wandered the Weyr slightly, curious to what everything would bring. She felt slightly odd since this wasn't her original Weyr, but at the same time excited to see what new things would bring her. Her eyes glanced around as she watched people walk by without saying a word to her, but she did not mind. As long as she didn't get in a fight today she was all good. Her blonde hair was braided, and her clothes were those of a candidate showing her rank well. Somedays she missed her glass sculptures that she made but others she was happy.
Today was one of those days she missed her sculptures. She loved making the glass sculptures and it was always calming for her to craft them they would easily take away whatever she was feeling. Often when she would finish a sculpture she would feel accomplished of something, but as of now she had no materials. She was to focus on being a candidate and too live up to the challenge the searchrider has put upon her. So much pressure could make anyone break, but for Lia it was all in a days work. She loved challenges and loved proving people wrong, when she couldn't she was often angry and would break the sculptures she worked so hard to make. You could say she had temper problems, but that is very obvious.
Looking around she saw no familiar faces, then remembered she was in her new home a new Weyr. Frowning slightly she missed home a little. She just wanted one friend here at least to help her through this struggle of candidacy.

Reuen had just finished up his Candidate duties for the day and was heading towards the kitchens for a meal when he spotted the pretty blond wandering around as if lost. She was dressed like a Candidate, but he had yet to meet her, and he was fairly certain he would remember a face like that. Well, it hadn't been so long ago that he was new, he should at least make sure she was okay.
He jogged the short distance to her, grinning at her with far more enthusiasm than he should have for the amount of work he had put in today, "Hey there, sorry for bothering you but you looked kind of lost and I wanted to make sure you were alright," he stuck out his hand, "I'm Reuen, I'm a Candidate too. Did you just arrive? I'm pretty sure I'd remember if I'd met you before."
He hoped she wasn't too freaked by his forwardness, and silently kicked himself mentally for it. He really had to take it easy on first meetings, not everyone was as energetic as he was.

Amelia saw a boy jog towards her which made her frown deepen slightly. "I didn't realize exploring meant I was lost." She snapped slightly as she crossed her arms. She was not going to shake the other boys hand and that was that. Her eye brow raised slightly as he asked if she had just arrived. Of course she hadn't just arrived, but she wasn't going to correct him. Amelia didn't care for what this boy thought really.
She debated slightly if she should even give him her name, but then again he did give him his. "Amelia." She said in a short response. She would have been nice to him if he hadn't assumed her to be lost, but then again it just takes one simple small word to make her turn into hell on wheels. He would have a lot of ground to make up especially if he expected her to be friends. Her green eyes were cold as she studied him for a few moments, then turned to walk away.

Rue blinked, "Sorry, I just thought... you were looking around, but you're right I shouldn't have assumed. I just got here so I just assume everyone is as lost as I was." He let his hand drop with a shrug. Apparently he'd been right about the being too forward thing, oh well, what was done was done.
"Nice to meet you Amelia," he didn't even seem to realize she was angry, or if he did he didn't seem to mind. When she turned he called after her, "Hey, look I'm sorry about that, I've been told I come off a little strong. I'm going to get something to eat and I don't really know many people here, did you want to join me?" After all that he seriously doubted she'd take him up on the offer, but he felt like he should at least try to make it up to her.

Amelia turned back and glared at him. "Is that the best you can come up with?" Her eyes were narrowed as she looked at him. She really didn't want any food, she wasn't even hungry. Her tummy right then had a funny feeling, which was when she did realize how hungry she was. She couldn't remember when she ate last. Looking down at the ground for a second she began to think things through.
He was a fellow candidate, and she was new here. Perhaps making a friend here won't be too bad, but then again he was rude to her. Which made her snap back, but he did say he was sorry. Sorry doesn't make everything okay though. It was very obvious she had a lot of conflicts in her mind. "Fine, but just this once only because I am hungry." She looked back at him, "But this doesn't mean I accept your apology." She added as she crossed her arms once more waiting for him to lead the way. She was actually lost, but she wasn't going to admit that he was right earlier.

"Usually yeah," he shrugged, "I might be able to come up with something better given time, or maybe answer more eloquently if you'd prefer, but I find I'm more charming when I've eaten usually." He grinned, "Although after my previous assumptions it probably looks like I can't get any less charming."
He nodded, "Well I gave it up so it's up to you when and if you want to accept it." She kind of reminded him of his sister, no nonsense and will you please stop acting like a fool? He pointed down the direction he had been heading, "It'- oh right, sorry, not lost... Sorry, I'm an idiot sometimes. More than that if you ask my sister." He did seem to actually believe that she hadn't been lost at all, but was a bit surprised by her actually wanting to eat with him. He lead the way to the dining cavern.
Reuen walked over to where the self-serve food was set up, but waited for her to go first, not really wanting to tempt fate by angering her further.

Amelia listened to him talk and found him to be an idiot in a sense. Once he started down the path towards the dining hall she shook her head really unsure of why she agreed to this. Sighing slightly she followed not looking forward to this at all. Was he going to talk all like this through eating as well?
Her eyes watched him as he wallked to the self serve food but then stopped as if he was waiting on her. "How gentlemen like." She said sarcastically as she walked right past him to grab some fruit. She looked around and found a table in the corner finding it best to be there instead of in the middle. Sitting down with her back to the walls her eyes observed the whole place as if taking note where everything and everyone was. Grabbing one of her fruit she took a small bite as she thought for a second before swallowing it. Her eyes watched Rue as if daring him to sit by her.

He shrugged again, "My mother had to get through to me on something I suppose. But it's more because I invited you along than because you're a girl." Reuen took longer deciding what he wanted to eat, looking between one dish and the other apparently torn.
Someone with long pale blond hair walked away from the line with his food, a small white dragon following very closely at his feet so as not to be stepped on. A green firelizard perched on his shoulder chirped at him before flying over and landing on the table where Amelia sat. She looked the girl over curiously as her bonded came up behind her, "Fin we've been through this before. Leave the girl alone!"
Finiky turned and, for all intensive purposes, glared angrily at him. Though it wasn't apparent, she was sending him a very nasty image in his head, he sighed, "If you keep threatening me you'll find yourself severely lacking in red meat in the fut- And I'll tell healer girl not to give you any either, yeah she probably would anyway..." He gave up and looked at Amelia, "I'm sorry but do you mind? I seem to have lost all control over her and she's insisting I sit here."
The white dragon had already moved under the table, finding it much safer than the area between the tables where people's feet kept coming dangerously close to him.
Reuen walked up with his food, apparently having made a decision finally and sat down across from Amelia, "Oh hey! You're that boy they were talking about who rushed out on the sands and impressed... where is... ah there." He looked under the table and spotted Norpoth, he stood again and extended a hand to the other boy, "I'm Reuen, you're Midnael right?"
Midnael looked at the hand with a frown, his own hands still holding his food. Though he could set it down he had asked Amelia's permission not Rue's and didn't want to shake anyone's hand anyway, "Yes, my name is Midnael. The green monster is Finiky, and Norpoth is under the table. Reuen... as in destruction ruin?"
Reuen grinned and sat back down, "Yeah sure if it makes it easier to remember."

Amelia watched the boy take forever to decide with a slight roll of her eyes. Sure he slightly annoyed her at first but perhaps things wouldn't be so bad, but then again they could be. She was slightly zoned into her thoughts when a fire lizard landed in front of her. Amelia looked up at where the firelizard came from seeing a girl with a white dragon behind her.
Wait didn't a boy impress the white dragon? She looked closer at Midneal and realized that yes he was a boy. "It's alright." Amelia said to his apology. "Besides you can't be too mad at your green. She is very cute." Amelia looked down at the White dragon underneath her table. He was most defiantly different that was for sure, but Amelia knew they would grow to be more useful then most people would realize.
Amelia sighed slightly as Reuen finally seemed to find his way over with a plate full of food. She laughed slightly as Midnael called Finiky a Green Monster. "Now, now I don't think Finiky is a Green Monster at all." She said as she looked at the firelizard to see if it agreed with her.

Midnael saw the confusion on Amelia's face, but at this point he was far too used to it to get angry. Anyway she seemed to have come to the proper conclusion, "Oh I'm not actually mad at her, just trying to assert some feeling of my own free will I guess." Fin chirped at him as if telling him that that was a silly idea and then fixed a stare at him, "Yes I imagine this one would feed you if I cut you off. Ah I'm sorry, I never caught your name. Mine's Midnael."
He sat down as Fin made her way over to Amelia's side of the table, peering up at her with green eyes. Norpoth moved to sit closer to Midnael, She seems irritated at the other boy. Fin looked back at Midnael smugly when Amelia said she wasn't a monster.
"Yes but she didn't see the pictures you sent me of you biting me if I didn't come over here. Nor has she seen you do so in the past," he rolled his eyes and took a bite of his food. He glanced over at Reuen, wondering if the boy was bothering Amelia, but apparently decided he was harmless enough, just your usually brand of irritating.
Rue looked under the table at Norpoth, "I bet people didn't give you a free moment without asking about him all through the feast, from what I hear he's Western's first white. Other than the hide color though he looks like a normal dragonet, just smaller..."
Midnael nodded, "That's what I keep trying to tell them."

"Amelia." She said as he asked her before she looked back at the green and smiled. She put her hand up to scratch Finiky's eye ridges hoping she didn't bite. "Of course I would feed her, she's just too cute." Amelia smiled slightly without looking at any of the two boys. She had always wanted a pet, but it seemed as if she was always just too busy to even go out and bond with one.
Amelia of course really wasn't listening to Midneal nor Reuen she was too entertained by the Green that was before her. "How did you bond with her?" She asked finally not really noticing that she had interrupted the two. Her green eyes looked at Midneal as she asked her question waiting for his answer.
She ran her hand through her blonde hair, well at least through her bangs since the rest was still braided right down her back. "She seems very pleasent" Amelia smiled once more her full attention turned back to the firelizard.

Tessa walked into the dining hall and headed towards the food and grabbed what she wanted, which consisted of meat, bread, and some fruit. Her eyes scanned slightly looking for anyone that she knew. With a sigh she almost decided to go eat with Mosarith until she saw the White Dragon. With a slight smile she couldn't help but want to meet his rider so she slowly made her way to the group that sat there.
"I hope you don't mind me joining, I'm Tessa of Burgundy Mosarith." She said as she set her plate down next to Amelia and sat down. "Gorgeous firelizard." Tessa said as she looked over at Finiky. 'I thought you were coming back to join me?' I know, I wanted to make a few friends.'

Fin had no intentions of biting the girl and rather seemed to enjoy having her eye ridges scratched. Of course, being called cute was rather nice too. Her hide seemed brighter than what should be normal, but it was hard to tell for someone who didn't know what she normally looked like if that was what she normally looked like, or if she was due to rise soon.
"Oh, well I used to hunt down firelizard nests for people who were too lazy to do so themselves. Turns out I'm pretty good at it but most of what you find on northern beaches are green clutches. I kept one egg for myself and... well there you go." He didn't mention that he'd originally kept Fin's egg for his father but, well the past was the past and no sense telling perfect strangers about it.
"She can be when she wishes to."
Rue smiled, "We didn't get too many firelizards back home, too far inland for regular folks. I guess my father could have gotten one if he wanted but he's far too invested in his wines to want a firelizard to take care of."
~~
Both Midnael and Reuen looked up as Tessa sat down. Midnael vaguely recognize her as one of the older weyrlings, but couldn't place her name. Reuen, of course, had no idea who she was but didn't seem to mind her joining in the least.
"Not at all, glad to have you with us..." Reuen didn't really know her name either.
Midnael didn't say anything really, only nodded in thanks when she mentioned Fin.

Amelia looked at Tessa for a second as if studying her but then when she decided the girl was no threat and went back to paying attention to the green before her. “So tell me, Tessa, why you join us.” Amelia said not really looking at the girl.
Tessa pushed some of her brown hair behind her shoulder as if the comment didn’t affect her at all. “Figured why not get to know some people. Besides my poor burgundy needs to learn how to be in crowds anyways.” She said without any hesitation. Her eyes looked to the two boys and the other girl, “So what’s your names?”
Amelia was obviously tired of introducing herself to so many people had just rolled her eyes. She looked at Tessa once more and simply stated, “Amelia.” Before she went back to paying attention to Finiky. Tessa just shrugged her shoulders slightly and smiled, “Nice to meet you” But all she got back was a slight huff from the other girl.

Midnael looked at Tessa when Amelia asked the question, he had been wondering something similar.
Under the table Norpoth had been watching her since her approach, She changed direction when she saw me... Then she felt, happy.
Midnael nodded, letting a hand hang by his side to scratch at Norpoth's headknobs when he felt the white rub against his hand, Well so long as she isn't making a big deal over you you're fine right? Or should we go now?
I'm fine, I just don't like it when people do that...
I know.
As if Fin sensed Norpoth's distress, she turned her gaze on Tessa, eyes orange with the emotions felt from the small white. He wasn't projecting strong enough to affect any of the human nearby, but for some reason Fin always seemed particularly influenced by his feelings.
Reuen didn't seem suspicious at all, "Oh, I'm sorry I should have introduced myself right away. I'm Reuen, I'm a Candidate," he glanced at Midnael who seemed distracted by comforting Norpoth, "He's Midnael, one of the new weyrlings."
Midnael looked up at the sound of his name, but didn't seem to mind that Rue had introduced him to the girl without permission. He still wasn't sure of her intentions so he really didn't feel like talking to her quite yet.
At the renewed attention from Amelia, Fin seemed to relax a little, but still watched Tessa with suspicious eyes.

Amelia noticed how Finiky reacted, and wondered why she did. But she did not comment at that. “So tell me about your dragon then.” Amelia said as she also noticed the silence from Midnael and really did not want it to be completely quiet at a table full of four people.
Tessa felt a bit odd as the firelizard seemed to be watched her. She also noticed how quiet the other boy seemed and felt a bit bad thinking it was her fault. As Amelia asked about her dragon she smiled slightly and looked at the other girl who seemed more interested in the fire lizard rather then Tessa’s story.
“Mosarith is really great. Only problem is that he’s a bit claustrophobic….Well not a bit let’s try a lot.” Tessa said with a sigh. She wished her dragon was comfortable in groups but then again she would never want him to change. “So pretty much if he could fit in here now, I’m sure he would be freaking out.” She added with a slight shake of her head.
Frowning ever so slightly Amelia hoped that when she impressed she would not experience the same problems that Tessa had, but then again it also gave her an excuse to stay away from large crowds. So perhaps that could work to her advantage.
