Reuen glanced around wondering why the mood seemed to have changed, and spotted Fin. He glanced at Midnael who was still petting Norpoth, "Is she alright?" He nodded at Fin.
Midnael nodded, "She's highly affected by Norpoth's emotions. Actually it seems most everyone is affected when he feels an emotion strongly enough, but for some reason Fin feels it more."
Norpoth did, indeed look antsy about something or another, Mine, now she feels bad about something.
She probably noticed Fin, you know you don't need to tell me how everyone feels all the time. You should try to relax okay? He wondered if other people dragon's tipped them off to the emotions of others or if that was another quirk of the white variety.
"Claustrophobic... Wow, everything must seem small to a full-grown dragon. What did you do when you were still in the weyrling barracks?" Rue took a bite of the meat he had picked out earlier.

Tessa laughed slightly as Rue asked how she survive the Weyrling Barracks. "I had to be as close to the exit was possible, most the time ended up outside some days when it was really bad." She sighed as she thought of her Burgundy with a slight smile. "You'll have to meet him sometime he's interesting company and loves meeting new people as long as it's an open area." She said with a shrug as her eyes flickered around the group.
"You said he was a Burgundy right?" Amelia asked as she tilted her head up to look at Tessa. Tessa nodded slightly wondering why the color was so important? Amelia seemed to be thinking for a few moments then nodded her head. "Sure." Was all Amelia really said. She figured a Burgundy would be the color she would impress if she impressed so she of course wanted to meet another Burgundy.
Tessa smiled that at least someone wanted to meet Mosarith. 'When do they come out?' Mosarith sent to his rider obviously hearing Tessa's thoughts. 'When they wish, relax dear one.' She could feel the annoyance coming from her dragon, it was obvious to her that Mosarith didn't like being so far from his rider.

Reuen nodded sympathetically, "I hear the new clutch has a Green that's scared of everything that moves, but that the rider seems very skilled in handling her..."
"Elvith..."
Rue glanced over at Midnael, surprised that he'd spoken, "Huh?"
"The Green is named Elvith, and her rider is L'en. She's not scared of everything either, just cautious. Played just fine with Norpoth and Fin," Midnael sipped his drink, sending Reuen a look that made the area around him seem about 10 degrees cooler.
"Ah, right..." Rue suddenly found his meal much more interesting, and took a few bites as he kept his gaze off of the rather chilly whiterider.
Fin chirped at Amelia questioningly. Midnael turned his gaze, now much kinder, to Amelia instead, "She want's to know what you're thinking about. You don't have to answer but she wanted me to give you the message."
The tiny green chirped again, this time in approval of Hers, and turned back to look up at Amelia expectantly.

Tessa looked between the two boys curiously, “It’s okay to be cautious.” She added with a shrug unsure if her comment was welcome. “Sometimes they make the best dragons to be on once the thread comes.” She added as she closed her eyes for a second. Her burgundy Mosarith was getting uncomfortable and she couldn’t help but wonder if there were other dragons off to where she had left him. Or perhaps it was because she had been off for too long.
Amelia looked up and laughed, “Oh, sorry. Nothing too important just trying to guess what I may impress.” She said as she went back to scratching Fin. “You don’t need to worry.” She smiled at the green. She looked at Rue thinking he was obviously stupid before looking at all the others at the table curious to how each of them had come to this table.
Amelia had picked it because it was in the corner, Midnael had to because Finky had flew over here, Rue was just being annoying, and Tessa…she was looking for friends or so she said. Amelia thought in her heads.

Reuen nodded, "Yeah that's true, she'll certainly watch out for thread more carefully." He turned his attention back to his food at that, lest he further incur the wrath of Midnael defending his dragon's clutchmate.
Midnael watched as Tessa closed her eyes, probably something with Mosarith. Norpoth seemed to have calmed down some and was back to being curled up under Midnael's chair, his tail twitching back and forth showing that he was awake. He glanced over when Amelia spoke, "She will anyway, she's used to mothering me so she tends to do it with others too. I've been told that she chattered at Pala like an old aunty to try and get her to the Hatching on time. Not that she needed to rush, what with Kumath taking he sweet time hatching."
Fin puffed up proudly at Midnael's telling of her, what she decided to take as, usefulness. She decided to forget momentarily the insults mixed in there.
Reuen seemed more interested in Amelia's speculations, "Yeah I've been wondering what I might Impress myself, if I Impress at all. Although I'm lucky in that I have a good hope to go back to if I don't so it wouldn't be the end of the world. Still... it'd be nice..." He looked Amelia over, he didn't know her well enough to really say what she would or would not Impress, save for the obvious ones.

Amelia tilted her head slightly as Midnael seemed to talk a bit more then she had expected. She shook her head once more and sighed. Feeling defiantly different since after all she had no idea of any of the dragons or people that both Midnael and Reuen have spoken of. She smiled slightly as she watched the little green puff up.
Closing her eyes for a moment she sighed once more, “Perhaps we’ll both impress.” She said directing at Reuen without any hint of anger or annoyance which is one shocker. She would be happy with a little green that is for sure.
Tessa looked at Amelia and shrugged slightly, “It’s a game of chance really. I’m sure if you were searched then there is a dragon out there meant for you. Even if it takes a few turns.” She added as she ran her hand through her hair, “Like Zyika for say, I’m not sure how many times that poor girl stood but look at her now. She impressed most likely the most talkative dragon any one has ever heard of.” Tess said with a slight laugh.

Mine, you're confusing her, she doesn't know Kumath or His.
Midnael looked up at Amelia indeed looked confused, "Sorry, Pala is a clutchmate of mine, and a Journeywoman Healer. She impressed a burgundy named Kumath who was the last one to hatch in the clutch." The girl probably could have gone back to the Candidate Barracks, changed, and STILL made it back in time to impress Kumath. As it was the girl had managed to make it to the grounds looking like she'd fought off a pride of felines to get there.
At the mention of them both Impressing Reuen brightened, "That would be great, I really don't want to make wine the rest of my life... but I'm not really suited for any other trade. Besides, who hasn't dreamed of being a Dragonrider at some point?"
Midnael looked to Tessa, he wasn't sure if what she described was chance so much as fate. Chance implied something random, what she described was more like Zyika had just been waiting for Imanith. At the egg touching Midnael himself had felt drawn to Norpoth's egg, and he knew he couldn't be the only one that had happened to.

Amelia nodded at the explantion of who the two were. "It's fine. I'm new here anyways." She added with a slight shrug silently hoping hers would not be the very last to hatch. She didn't have that much patience anyways. Amelia smirked slightly as Rue mentioned something about making wine for the rest of his life. She really couldn't picture the annoying kid making anything for the rest of his life. She shrugged slightly at his last question which in a way was true after all. Who didn't dream of flying on the back of Dragon Wings?
Mine! Mosarith seemed to whine to Tessa. Tess sighed and looked at everyone, "It was nice meeting you all, but Mosarith is about to have a fit again. You are all welcome to come join me if you wish, but I best get out there." She said as she stood up only taking an apple with her as she walked out of the Dining Hall.
Mosarith stood at the edge of the Weyr Bowl waiting for his bonded to walk towards him. If you walk any slower I believe I shall end up flying over there to grab you The Burgundy slightly hissed obviously upset with how long Tess seemed to be taking.

Midnael chuckled and reached a hand down to pet Norpoth once more, "Norpoth says not to worry, his brother happens to be extraordinarily lazy and not all of them are like that. Yes you did hatch rather quickly for your size... yes... it was rather impressive."
Reuen raised an eyebrow at the pair, "...Didn't you have to help him out of the sand?"
The instant the words left his mouth a wave of hurt swelled from under Midnael's chair and the whiterider's already dark eyes seemed dark as between. Reuen regretted his choice in wording a bit too late, the damage was done, still... "Sorry, I only meant that he also had to work against the sands where his clutchmates had only their shells... sorry." He looked down at his food as Fin glared daggers at him from across the table.
The feeling of hurt subsided a bit, but was still there only now the small white was feeling it for an entirely different reason. Midnael sighed, "It's a rather sore subject. I'm not sure the Queen remembers why Norpoth's egg was buried but usually it's done if an egg is thought to be a dud from what I've been told... The weyrfolk haven't been particularly able to let Norpoth forget it either." It wasn't that anyone purposely said so to hurt the white, it was more of an observation, but Midnael supposed he wouldn't really want to know about his mother burying him either.
Midnael nodded politely to Tessa and Reuen looked up, he wanted to join her but at the moment it felt a bit like running away. So he simply smiled, "Please tell Mosarith I look forward to meeting him."
