Name: Wy'ren (born Wylvaren) Age: 20 Turns Gender: Male Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Rank: Black Weyrling Family: father~ Wy'lam of Blue Ionth mother~ Renna of Green Eiminth Dragon: Black Schwarzth Pets: Imp (Imp is the one getting kissed) - Imp is a small, rustic red and with Tunnelcat that Wy'ren was given when he was young. This little creature doesn't like to be left behind, so it isn't uncommon to find Wy'ren, Imp, and Schwarzth flying together, or Imp curled up inside Wy'ren's riding leathers. He is about the length of Wy'ren's arm, with his tail the length of Wy'ren's hand. Beadly black eyes watch the going ons around him, and it isn't uncommon to catch this little guy stealing your buckles or bread from your private weyr if he can get to it.
Appearance: Wy'ren is a rather interesting figure, as he stands about 6"2', but slumps his shoulders forward to make himself look only 6 foot even. Tall and slender, Wy'ren is the type of person that is called on whenever the crafters need help with high things. Long-legged and toned, he simply puts on muscle by helping out around the Weyr. His hands and feet are rather large, while his shoulders are wide, allowing Imp room to perch and watch. Thin, he doesn't have a lot of fat on him, but a lot muscle. Of course, that should mean that he is always cold, but in truth, he is a walking heater, hence why Imp can always be found on him, rather than running around. His hair is dark, inky black in color and wavy in texture. His eyes a hard blue that seems to make most cower, unless you know him. His face is thin, not so thin that it is unattractive, but enough to notice that something is a bit off with him. His lips are drawn out and thin, eyebrows so dark that they stand out against his slightly tanned flesh.
Basic Personality: Strengths
- Hard Worker- once he has something in mind, he goes for it, wholeheartedly
- Good listener - because he doesn't talk much, Wy'ren is actually the person to head to if you have a problem. He is willing to help anyone, as long as they don't upset Imp or Schwarzth
- Loyal and Trustworthy - no one can say that Wy'ren isn't a loyal soul, as he would do anything for his Weyr. No matter what life throws at him, Wy'ren has always been there for the Western Weyr. Now that he has Schwarzth, the love and loyalty felt toward his home Weyr is only multiplied.
- Reliable and Dependable - you can depend on Wy'ren to get the job done. If something is asked of him, and he knows he can do it, he will be there with you til the end.
- All Over Self - whatever Wy'ren does isn't just for himself, but for the good of the Weyr, or for the good of Schwarzth or Imp.
Faults
- Stubborn - his stubborness could become a huge problem, as it would take a direct order from a higher ranking Rider to get him to listen
- Aggressive - even though he calm and collected, you don't mess with Imp or Schwarzth because Wy'ren will take it personally
- Rude - even though he is a good listener, this doesn't mean he has great people skills. In fact, his people skills are deplorable. So things he might say about others problems tend to come out a bit rough and rub people the wrong way, but he does help with problems from time to time. It's just sometimes better if he simply listens.
- Self-worth - because his mother didn't want him as a child and his father died when he was ten, not even the unyielding love of his creche mother could make this young man fill wanted. Schwarzth is working on that though.
- Insomnia - Ever since he was a child, Wy'ren has had problems sleeping. The lack of sleep no longer affects his daily life, but there will be times that he doesn't sleep for several days, then he might fall asleep for an hour, then he's awake again for another couple of days.
History: Wy'ren was the product of a Green Rising. His mother, Renna, always wanted a daughter, and when her Green began to show signs of Rising, she instantly went looking for Riders that seemed the best choice for her future daughter. Renna wanted T'jor of Brown Jareth, but Green Eiminth had other plans and when the time came for her to Rise, she allowed Blue Ionth to catch her, making Bluerider Wy'lam the future father of Renna's child. And there was a child begot of this union, but not the daughter Renna wanted. No, she bore Wy'lam a son, and it was Wy'lam who named the boy, giving the babe the name Wylvaren, 'Wylva' after his own birth name 'Wylvalam' and 'Ren' after his mother.
Wy'lam made Renna promise him, before the babe was born, that if she decided not to raise the child, that she at least keep the baby until it was weaned, then she could give it to a creche woman. And that was what she did. As soon as Wy'ren no longer needed her milk, he was given away and she moved on, still trying to persuade T'jor to join her in her private weyr.
From a young age, Wy'ren can always remember seeing Wy'lam. It was Wy'lam who gave Wy'ren Imp, as the Bluerider presented the little Tunnelcat to his son on the boy's tenth Turn. After he was presented Imp, Wy'lam and Renna both transferred to the new Western Weyr, and Wy'lam took Wy'ren with him. Sadly, shortly after the transfer, Wy'lam and his Blue were never seen again. Wy'ren later found out that they had simply disappeared between, and never came out again. After that day, Wy'ren didn't speak much more than one or two sentences.
He was Searched, by his own mother, who was able to see him Stand and Impress Black Schwarzth, but shortly after he Impressed, she, too, passed away. The grief of loosing her Rider took Green Eiminth. Now, after what has felt like a lifetime with Schwarzth, having only really been nine months, Wy'ren finds himself with a new sense of pride and wonder, and he has begun talking a bit more, but he still doesn't walk up and start conversations with others. Not yet at least.
If ever you become inactive without warning for a long period of time or decide to leave the site, what would you like me to do with your character? Please make him, Imp, and Schwarzth either go between or have them be sent on a far-Riding mission.
