Name: Kolinar [K'nar]
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Rank: Weyrling
Dragon: Blue Rudoth
Family: Father: Unknown, his mother never told him and he suspects she doesn't really know - could have been a rider.
Mother: Kolina, kitchen worker in the lower caverns of Telgar Weyr.
Siblings: Melina (14), Kelnar (12), Joshle (9), Horba (4)
Pets: None
Appearance: Kolinar is 5'10", average build and has blonde hair with grey/blue eyes, a rare occurrence among the Pern population. It might be a throwback from his father's side of the family since all his siblings are dark haired and have dark eyes. He's fit from doing chores around the Weyr, mostly looking after the herdbeasts before he was Searched. He's not pale due to working out in the fields and his hair get bleached almost golden by the sun. Like any teenaged boy he's quite happy with wearing whatever he can put his hands on, as long as its clean.
Basic Personality:
Kolinar is a friendly sort, likes to get to know new people and will be friends with anybody if they are willing to keep the friendship going from their side as well. He's slow to anger, but when he does get upset its like a firestorm - fiery and quick, with a some smoldering resentment that remain for a while after. Quick to laugh and generally a happy person. Not prone to browbeat himself over things that he can't really control.
Strengths
Faults
History: Kolinar was a bit of a lonely child growing up. All his friends knew at least both his parents, and if they didn't it was because one of them were dead. He didn't know his fater and his mother never told him who it was. He maintains that she didn't know who it is - most likely a rider looking for solace after a failed flight. He couldn't pick out his father from the Telgar riders, other than his heritage of blond hair and blue eyes. But even that wasn't a guarantee to determine his parentage.
Like all weyrbrats he grew up in the creche, his mother a constant presence but not overly mothering. His siblings joined him there one after the other until he was old enough to learn a craft. He wasn't inclined to become a Harper despite his good singing voice, so he joined the beastcrafters in caring for the Weyr's herds for the dragons. He also learned to care for runners and can ride anything with four legs.
At fifteen he was Searched by the Weyr's searchdragon and he stood on the sands. He didn't Impress that time. Neither did he Impress the next two, so when it was announced that Western Weyr had a clutch hardening on the Sands, Kolinar had to decide if he was going to leave Telgar or not. He kept putting it off until the morning of Hatching when the Searchrider from Western came one last time to find a last minute candidate and he left with her, his mind suddenly made up - Western could be a great new beginning.
If ever you become inactive without warning for a long period of time or decide to leave the site, what would you like me to do with your character?
Keep him around as NPC until such time as killing him off will work.

Strengths
- Friendly - Kolinar is a friendly sort, quick to make friends or to make someone feel welcome if they are new to the group.
- Confident - He knows that he can do almost anything he sets his mind to. He does mostly limit himself to things that he knows about, but new challenges make him want to excel more.
- Hard working - Even though he's a weyrbrat, Kolinar is not adverse to working hard to contribute to the well-being of the weyr. Knows more about runners and herdbeasts, but is just as comfortable in the kitchen helping prepare meals.
- Musical - He can sing well, but doesn't have the passion or inclination to be Harper. He can't play any instruments but does drum on the edge of the table when he's distracted or thinking.
- Steadfast - It takes a lot to make him panic or get worked up about something, he believes in the need and workings of weyrs and will do whatever he can to ensure the succes.
- Loyal - Almost to a fault. Become his friend and he will move mountains for you. He's not completely blinded by his loyalty - he can see the faults of his friends and will point it out to them if the need arises or situation call for it.
Faults
- Confrontational - he won't just back down from something. If he thinks he needs to get an answer, he will. Sometimes being annoying about it.
- Sarcastic - it doesn't happen too often, but his tongue is known to be sharp and has earned him enough cuffs to the ear to be mostly under his control. It flares up when he's angry.
- Intellectually lazy - Kolinar doesn't want to think more than he has to. He's clever, just doesn't use it beyond what is needed.
- Arrogant - he knows he's good at certain things and will not back down if he knows he's right about it. Sometimes he's not right, but he'll argue as matter of principle - he can't readily admit that he was wrong.
- Insecure - contrary to his sometimes brash exterior, Kolinar is very insecure in certain aspects of his life, mostly stemming from not knowing how his father really is. Not that it mattered most of the time, but when his other siblings get a visit from their fathers, he usually left, not wanting to be reminded that he didn't know.
