Name: S'lar
Age: 18 Turns
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Rank:Weyrling/Dragonrider
Family: Mother: Sellena (a cook at the weyr)Father: L'aran, Brother/Twin: L'en
Dragon: black Umojath
Pets:
Appearance: You would think that being a twin would make it hard to distinguish ones own identity, but for Salar that has never been the case. While he does look like his brother he has always had such a strong personality, that it seemed to come out through his physical features. Unlike his brother, Salar, has gray eyes and a bit of a moody expression. His face always seems to have some disarray of stubble on it, due to his lack of care for such things; though it seems to work in his favor, giving him a rakish look that the females seem to enjoy. His dark hair, like his facial hair, always seems to be in a messy roguish order. Though not a tall man he is by no means short, and his well toned body suits his height and weight very well. A cocky side grin can be seen gracing his features when he finds something amusing, his slightly off center teeth causing him to smile less than frequently.
Basic Personality: Strong willed, ambitious, outgoing, nonchalant. All these are words that can describe Salar. The more aggressive of the twins he has always gone for what he wanted and done well doing it. He will speak his mind though more often than not he's the guy standing in the back plotting a more intelligent way to win his cause before speaking. A fairly good public speaker, he has been known to soap box his opinions when he felt the ordeal was required. A strong and loyal friend to have he is however, not someone you want on your bad side. His ambition causes him to take down or attempt to take down those he feels are a threat to him or those he cares about.

History: Being born a twin is not an easy matter, even more so when it is such a rare thing to have happen on Pern. Growing up in a weyr where people were always mixing you up for someone else was torture. So from an early age Salar began to distinguish himself from his brother. He become competitive, winning contest where and when he could. Salar let facial hair grow raggedly where his brother did not. He kept his hair messy; the list goes on and on. Salar's mother always made it a point to treat him differently from his brother. She could sense a need in him to be seen as himself not one of a half. Salar's mother was and is his best friend. The one person he can talk to about anything and not feel guilty about it.
As a child in lessons Salar was constantly the butt of jokes, and if not him his brother. So a history of scuffing and standing up for his honor was started very young. Kids used to make fun of him by asking how it felt to be only half a person. Salar's lessons were hard and grueling due to such things. However, he grew up well and made sure to be at the top of the class so that no one could tease him about his intelligence. Why was it that no matter where children were always cruel? Salar and his brother both had a hard time assimilating to the weyr, despite being raised in it. It was like being a bit different made other people not trust you or think you were strange.
The last few years Salar has been hoping someone would search him, when it didn't happen for the previous clutch he gave up hope. However, Salar watched as his brother was searched ahead of him, only recently himself being searched. It was again another reason for Salar to try and rise above his birth and circumstances. Why was it that no matter how much he succeeded or did better than his sibling that his sibling always seemed to be the favorite? Was it his easy going manner? Salar grew up under his shadow and after being searched he felt it was about time he could rise above that. Now sitting in the male barracks of the weyr was like sitting in a cage as an animal ready for battle. Everyday was bringing him closer to his dream, closer to finally being seen by someone as himself and not just a twin.
If ever you become inactive without warning for a long period of time or decide to leave the site, what would you like me to do with your character? Again I'd like my little man to be up for adoption if possible.

Strengths
- Confidence is the name of the game. Salar is so confident it verges on cocky, which some might think a bad quality but honestly, in a weyr, a man needs to be a bit cocky to get noticed sometimes. Salar's confidence is earned though, he worked hard to get himself where he is and to earn the respect that he did.
- Charming with a capital C. Salar knows how to throw on the charm; he knows that having some appeal can help to propel you to the top when you are as ambitious as he is.
- A natural born leader, Salar is always taking charge whether he is asked or not. There have been times when he has down right usurped someones proper role as the leader of the group and simply taken it and ran with it.
- Salar is also a very quick learner, I can not say he is the smartest or the most clever, but he does learn fast and applies it well. Salar's mother always told him it was better to learn quickly than to think you knew it all.
- Adaptability, every great leader has to be able to adapt to a situation at the drop of a hat, Salar is an excellent example of this. What he lacks in actual knowledge he makes up for in his ability to apply things he's learn instantly with each changing incident.
- Reliability is another of Salar's good points. Unlike his flighty brother he is able to say something and stick to it. He knows that trust is built on keeping your word. So Salar always sticks to what he says. Unless of course it is harmful that would just be silly.
Faults
- Pride comes before the fall. Salar is full of pride and known to lose his temper when his pride is squashed. He can't stand when he makes stupid mistakes and it has been known that others can use this fact against him.
- Temper is another failing of Salar. While he is not cruel or mean normally he does have a bit of hot headedness to him. Make him truly angry and his face will darken and words you never expected are known to fly out, and this can definitely create a bit of an enemy base for you.
- Skepticism is another fault of my little twin. He tends to second guess things till there is definitive proof...which in a hurry could be very bad...it also makes it hard for him to endear people to his cause when he is constantly questioning things. People like someone who believes and is easy to move.
- Ambition is a strength and a fault. Salar sometimes lets his ambition get the better of him. His desire to be a rider being the newest ambition after being searched, he has taken it to a new level. He will do just about anything to advance those ambitions and people know that. He is young and dumb as they say when it comes to his dreams.
- Aggression is also a trait pegged on Salar's shoulders. His desire to be the best has caused him to be a bit more aggressive than is sometimes acceptable. Again no that he is a mean spirited man it's just a way of his dealing with things. This has caused him to be in quite a few troublesome situations.
