((ooc..I figured it would be a good idea to post how Alyzin and Zyika first began hating each other.))
Zyika was cooking stew with all the other kitchen women. The smell made her feel hungry to her stomach, but she knew to finish making everyone else’s dinner before she would eat her own. She was the type of person to put other people first before worrying about her own self. She sighed and looked at her mother who was cooking away.
“Where is Alexander?” Her mother’s sweet and soft voice asked Zyika. “I believe he is still playing with his new pet, Alyzin.” Zyika responded hoping she remembered the name correctly of her brother’s fire lizard. She would admit she was very jealous that her brother had impressed a fire lizard when she herself couldn’t even impress a dragon. Frowning slightly she wondered if she would ever impress. “Well go get him.” Her mother commanded.
She knew better to argue with her mother so she washed her hands. Walking out of the kitchens, Zyika checked the Candidate’s Common Room first to see if Alexander was there. Her eyes flickered across the room, seeing other candidates. She frowned slightly feeling a little left out since she really didn’t know them like she should. Shaking her head she continued on heading towards the dragon’s feeding grounds, her brother’s favorite place. Alyzin was flying in circles happily around Alexander’s head. Zyika smiled slightly as she saw the two. The fire lizard was gorgeous no doubt, and she found him quite interesting. They all had a personality, which helped define which one was which in a big flock of fire lizards. Alyzin chirped happily as he saw Zyika.
Alexander turned and smiled for his sister. “Let me guess, mom wants me.” Zyika laughed, “Well you guessed right. I believe she would like you to help carry the stew pots out to serve.” Alexander shrugged, “Well we should get going before she sends a search party out for us.” Zyika grabbed his arm and laughed. Alyzin landed on Zyika’s shoulders and fluttered his wings as she reached into her pocket and gave the fire lizard a treat.
A few hours later Zyika was cooking the last pot of stew. The rest of the kitchen women went to go eat since Zyika insisted that they should. Zyika went and grabbed a bowl figuring it would be a good idea to grab some of the stew before it left. Alexander walked in and sighed, “Grab a second bowl.” Smiling Zyika grabbed a second one and began to dish them out. “Where is Alyzin?” She asked noticing the fire lizard was gone. Alexander shrugged but did not seem too worried.
As Zyika turned to grab some spoons a flash of burgundy was coming right at her. Something that she really didn’t expect, without really even thinking about it she threw her bowl of stew at the flying object. A loud shriek came from Alyzin as he flew out of the kitchen as fast as he could. “ALEXANDER!!! THAT WAS NOT FUNNY!!!” Zyika screamed at her brother who was laughing.
Alexander walked out of the kitchen and walked back in with Alyzin on his shoulder. Zyika pointed a spoon at the fire lizard, “Don’t you dare ever do that again.” She said softly. The fire lizard hissed right back at Zyika. Alexander shook his head as he grabbed a rag to dry off the fire lizard, “You got stew all over him.” Zyika glared at her brother, “Well maybe he deserved it for what he did.” Alexander chuckled and shook his head. He figured everything would get better soon, but from that day forth Alyzin and Zyika never saw eye to eye again.
