Name: Midnael
Age: 15 turns
Gender: male
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual (leaning more towards liking men)
Rank: Weyrling, seaholder from High Reaches region
Family: Mother: Midiri (deceased), Father: Neal (42)
Dragon: White Norpoth
Pets:
Green firelizard: Finiky
Midnael would search the beaches for firelizard nests when not on a voyage in attempt to impress his father. He actually earned quite a bit of money doing this and would try to give it to his father for the ship but his father never accepted it. Even when Midnael saved an egg for Neal the man wanted nothing to do with it and so when Finiky hatched Midnael ended up impressing her instead. (Note: when he was searched most of said money was at home so he only has a bit more than a normal candidte who previously held a job would have.)
Appearance:
i.models.com/i/db/2010/6/24156/24156-500w.jpg
Midnael looks like a girl, and he hates it. Not only does he look like a girl but he looks like his mother, constantly reminding his father of his loss. His pale blond hair is long, past his shoulders. He once tried cutting it but found that only made him look like an ugly girl. His skin tone also comes from his mother, being of fair skin that manages to tan, but peels within days until it’s back to it’s pale color. If he spends too much time in the sun he ends up being dusted with freckles across his nose and shoulders. The one thing he has of his father’s in appearance are his dark brown eyes. He is, at the very least, taller than most girls (and even most boys) his age and getting taller by the year. He stands at around 5’10”, his slim body hiding the muscles of someone who has not had an easy life.
Midnael tries to wear clothing that specifically shows the fact that he is male, choosing tighter shirts and slightly loose pants with his fishing knife at his waist more often than not. He also usually keeps his hair pulled back in a tight ponytail so that people can see the few sharp angles to his face that distinguish him as male.
Basic Personality:
Midnael has one basic thought that goes through is head before he does almost anything and that is, “What will my father think?” Weither he likes it or not, he is almost always striving for his father’s approval. Dispite this it is usually his mother that he tries to emulate, being told that he reminds someone of her is the surest way to actually get the boy to smile. For a boy his age he is unusually solomn, usually choosing to occupy himself without getting involved in the antics of youth. He takes any flaw in himself personally, and works hard to change them without even realizing what most of his flaws really are. If anyone ever wishes to speak with him he almost always has to be approached instead of the other way around, and dispite his lack of interest in people in general, he’s usually very polite and nice.
Strengths (at least 5, preferably more, do not simply list them, but add a little description/example to go along with it)
Faults (at least 5, preferably more, do not simply list them, but add a little description/example to go along with it)
History:
Midnael had about as perfect as a life as you can expect one to have from his birth until the age of 4. He had a mother, a father, both of whom loved him very much and loved each other even more. His mother was beautiful, his father strong and in charge of his own boat at the minor seahold they called home in the High Reaches region. Midnael was a beautiful baby, and an even more beautiful toddler with a natural curiousity for the world around him. He loved to listen to his mother sing, and he loved it when his father would take him out to his ship before a voyage.
But life in a minor hold of Pern is hard, and food and Healers aren’t always available when disaster hits. Such was the case when Midnael was 4 turns old and illness struck their hold. His mother Midiri was among those who died before the neccisary medicine could be made and distributed. It was at this point when his father Neal realized that his beautiful son, looked just like his mother. The two of them had grown up together as children and every stage of young Midnael’s life, was like watching his deceased wife playing in the halls again, and so he made himself as absent as possible in the boy’s life. Midnael was sent to live with aunts and uncles, moving from home to home as his attention-seeking antics drove each family member mad in turn. He tried to work on the ship with his father when he turned 12, but his father couldn’t have it, sending him to work on other ships instead.
It was on one such trip to High Reaches Hold that Midnael found himself staring up at a large green dragon, and something in his heart told him that things were about to change.
(I’m making him to fill one of the adoptable slots that Kenessia searched but would actually like to rp out the search if there is time)
If ever you become inactive without warning for a long period of time or decide to leave the site, what would you like me to do with your character?
Turn him into an NPC.
Note: He's still fairly more tragic than I'd like but unfortunately his mother's death is a large part of what makes Midnael Midnael. However I changed some things around and feel that he actually has quite a bit of potential for growth now depending on how well he takes to Weyr life which will have to play out icly.

Strengths (at least 5, preferably more, do not simply list them, but add a little description/example to go along with it)
- He is a hard worker and will absorb himself in any task given him completely almost without question.
- He’s very hard to read, most people assume he would be out there or emotional due to his appearance, he is anything but.
- He is very observant and has been known to go without talking for weeks on end just watching those around him. This comes out if he is ever faced with conflict as he will use any observed weaknesses against whomever mistakenly thinks he will be an easy target.
- Dispite his feminine appearance (or maybe even because of it) he is suprisingly strong, and very fast in a fight. His father made it very clear that he wasn’t going to shelter his only child from the harsh realities of the world and so Midnael learned to protect himself. And when your fellow holders are burly deckhands and fishermen you learn very fast.
- He has a good bit of musical talent, he was never allowed to cultivate it by his father, but he would often sneak away to the Harper’s living area to learn anything he could. The only memories he has of his mother are of her voice as she sang to him, and so he tries to cultivate this talent in himself and his range is amazing.
Faults (at least 5, preferably more, do not simply list them, but add a little description/example to go along with it)
- Midnael isn’t a leader personality and he knows it, he has good ideas but is better at routing them through others and having them belive that it was their idea all along than actually standing up front and taking credit.
- He doesn’t really like people, he can be around them but if given the choice between going to a gather or sitting at home by himself, he chooses to be alone almost every time.
- He will not ask for help in anything that he does for himself. Weither out of a lack of desire to do so, or simply because he doesn’t really know how, he just doesn’t do it. If he truly cares for someone (which is no one at this point in his life) he might ask for help on their behalf if the situation is desperate.
- He is always expecting anything good in his life to end at any moment, but isn’t terribly let down when it does. Even his Candidacy he see’s as a mistake that the Weyr will eventually see that they made.
- He lacks confidence in himself, seeing even the good parts of him as insignificant or useless, and of course he hates his appearance.
